The Puppy Plan
Expert 1:1 support to help you and your puppy get off to the very best start
Bringing a new puppy into your life is incredibly exciting—but it can also feel overwhelming. From choosing the right breed and breeder to buying all the right gear and preparing your home, there’s a lot to think about… and that’s all before your puppy even arrives.
That’s where The Puppy Plan comes in. Whether you’ve already welcomed your new arrival or are still preparing, this 1:1 tailored support package is designed to guide you every step of the way.
Because the best way to avoid behavioural problems down the line? Prevention
🧠 Why Early Support Matters
Too often, we don’t think about training or behaviour until problems arise. But helping your puppy learn the right things early on—like how to feel safe in new situations, settle at home, and build trust with you—lays the foundation for a confident, well-rounded adult dog.
That’s why this plan is packed with positive, science-based strategies for socialisation, life skills, enrichment, and more. It’s all about giving you the knowledge and support to raise a happy, resilient pup.
📚 What’s Included in The Puppy Plan
Each session lasts around 1 hour and takes place in the comfort of your home or a suitable local environment.
Session 1 – Pre-Arrival Planning (Optional)
We’ll talk through everything you need to get ready—from choosing a breeder to setting up your home. We'll cover toilet training, crate setup, what to expect in the first week, and the key principles of safe, effective puppy socialisation.
(Already have your puppy? No problem—we’ll simply replace this with another training session tailored to your pup's needs.)
Session 2 – Welcome Home
Your puppy has arrived—now what? We’ll tackle your first-week questions, explore enrichment ideas, set up a healthy routine, and start introducing early training games in a gentle, age-appropriate way.
Session 3 – The Big Wide World
Now it’s time to venture out! We’ll focus on how to safely expose your puppy to new environments, people, and other dogs. We’ll also begin introducing loose lead walking and apply what your pup’s learned in real-life situations.
Session 4 – Recall & Responsibility
Off-lead time can feel daunting, but with the right groundwork, your pup can build a reliable recall. This session focuses on recall training and strengthening your dog’s focus and response to you, even with distractions.
Session 5 – Graduation Day
We’ll review everything you’ve learned so far, answer any remaining questions, and talk about what’s coming next—especially as your puppy enters adolescence. You’ll leave with a plan for the months ahead and the confidence to keep progressing.
